LAFF announces the 5th edition’s awards

Confederate Prize for criticism to the Moroccan film “starve your dog” and the film Nigerian "Mona" awarded best feature film and Egypt got awarded for best documentary short and long.

Luxor African Film Festival Awards of the fifth session were announced at the Luxor conference hall during a press conference this morning in the presence of some members of the different juries of the festival, and the awards were as follows:

Long feature competition

Grand Nile Prize for Best Long Narrative (the Golden Mask of Tutankhamen):
Mona (Nigeria) by Anthony Abuah

The Jury Prize (the Silver Mask of Tutankhamen):
WITHOUT REGRET (Ivory Caost) by Jacques Trabi

Best Artistic Achievement (A Certificate of Appreciation and the Bronze Mask of Tutankhamen:
FREE STATE (South Africa) by Sallas De Jager

Special mention form the Jury to the film “Reveries of a solitary actor” by Hamid bin Emara – Algeria

Second special mention from the Jury to the film “Starve your dog” by Hisham Lassri – Morocco

Long documentaries competition

Grand Nile Prize for Best Long Documentary (the Golden Mask of Tutankhamen):
WE HAVE NEVER BEEN KIDS” (Egypt) by Mahmoud Soliman

Jury Prize (the Silver Mask of Tutankhamen):
SEMBENE  (Senegal) by Samba Gadjigo and Jason silverman
